Technological Creativity and Its Impact on Organizational Performance: A Field Study of a Sample of Employees in Hotels in Baghdad

Abstract

The current study aims to determine the impact of technological innovation on enhancing organizational performance through an exploratory study conducted in hotel organizations in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. The study is based on a problem represented by the weakness of organizational performance in hotel organizations, which is attributed to the limited adoption of the dimensions of technological innovation within the hotels included in the study sample. Accordingly, the research problem can be framed through the following main question: What is the impact of technological innovation on enhancing organizational performance in the investigated hotel organizations?

To address the research problem, the necessary data were collected through a questionnaire designed according to the study scale. The data were then classified and analyzed using various statistical methods. The descriptive-analytical approach was employed to examine the research problem. The study sample consisted of (130) administrative leaders and employees working in hotel organizations in Baghdad, Iraq.

The study findings revealed that the level of technological innovation in the investigated hotels was good, reflecting a clear orientation toward adopting modern methods and technologies in the development of hotel services and operations. This contributes to enhancing the hotels’ ability to adapt to the requirements of the competitive environment. The study concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which is strengthening investment in technological innovation applications through the adoption of advanced technologies and the provision of digital infrastructure that supports the continuous development of hotel services and operations.
