Self-Archiving

Aljabel Journal of Humanities and Applied Sciences encourages an Author Self-Archiving policy, allowing authors to deposit copies of their published research in institutional or personal repositories, or on their own websites. This promotes wider access to research and increases its impact.

Types of Versions Permitted for Self-Archiving:

  1. Pre-print: This is the initial version of the manuscript before it undergoes peer review. Authors are permitted to deposit this version at any time, indicating that it is a draft and has not yet been peer-reviewed.

  2. Post-print / Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM): This is the version of the manuscript that has been accepted for publication after all revisions based on peer review comments have been incorporated, but before journal formatting (i.e., it does not bear the journal's logo or final pagination). Authors are permitted to archive this version immediately upon acceptance for publication.

  3. Publisher's PDF / Version of Record: This is the final, formatted version of the article as it appears in the journal (including the journal's logo, layout, and pagination). Authors are permitted to archive this version immediately upon publication, in line with the journal's open access policy.

Importance of Self-Archiving:

  • Increased Visibility and Impact: Making research easily accessible increases its chances of being read and cited.

  • Wider Reach: Allows the scientific community and the public to access knowledge without restrictions.

  • Long-Term Digital Preservation: Contributes to the permanent preservation of research.
