Abstract

This research highlights the pivotal role of syntactic and structural diacritics in shaping meaning and semantics in the Qur'anic text, moving beyond their traditional grammatical function to being an effective tool for enriching semantic diversity. It relies on the descriptive-analytical method to extrapolate vivid examples from the phenomenon of multiple, widely transmitted Qur'anic readings, demonstrating how a slight change in the vowel of a single letter can generate multiple layers of complementary, rather than contradictory, meanings.

Through the analysis of examples such as the differing readings in words like (رَبَّنَا بَاعِدْ) between the accusative and nominative cases, and (قُرْحٌ & قَرْحٌ) between dammah and fathah, the research illustrates how each reading offers a specific meaning that serves the overall context of the verse. The nominative reading (رَبُّنَا بَاعِدَ) carries the meaning of informing about God's action as a fact, while the accusative reading (رَبَّنَا بَاعِدْ) carries the meaning of supplication and request.

The research concluded that this phenomenon is not merely a matter of phonetic differences; rather, it is a unique rhetorical feature that reveals an aspect of the inimitability of the Noble Qur'an. It enriches the meaning and demonstrates the flexibility of the Arabic language and its supreme capacity for expression and precision, confirming that every considered reading is valid and carries a semantic space that enriches understanding and interpretation.
