Renewal in Islamic Science Curricula for a Scientific Renaissance (Motives, Controls, and Objectives)

This study aims to clarify the legitimacy of renewal in Islamic science curricula, and with the increasing calls and holding of forums, conferences and symposiums about innovation in Islamic science curricula in general, it was necessary to clarify the sound approach and the correct path for the concept of renewal in Islamic science curricula, and to state the motives, controls and conditions, so that it is Scientific curricula are based on scientific foundations, and their renewal is based on Sharia foundations. The research also aims to respond to those who describe Islamic sciences as stagnation and not keeping pace with applied sciences and the requirements of the times.Explaining that innovation in Islamic curricula is developing them in a way that suits the present while returning to the old, building on it, and adding to it, so it is a combination of the new and the heritage. This would preserve the Islamic identity and its heritage in the midst of rapid developments, call for intellectual freedom, and explain the fruits that can be achieved. It was aimed at individuals and scientific institutions and the quality of the outputs from the project of renewal in Islamic science curricula. The research concluded that the process of renewal in Islamic science curricula is not an end in itself, but rather a means to keep pace with scientific development and to connect a person to the reality of his life. The researcher used the two approaches:inductive and analytical; To reach the goal of writing the research, which was divided - after the introduction - into an introduction: it included the meaning of innovation, its legitimacy, and its relationship to ijtihad, and three sections. The first contains the motivations for renewal and its fields in Islamic sciences, and the second contains the controls for renewal and its goals in Islamic sciences. As for the third It was devoted to examples of the features of innovation in the mediator in the provisions of the Holy Qur’an for the army, and a conclusion to list the most important results.
