Abstract

     With the increase in the spread of social networking sites, the phenomenon of hate speech has increased with it. Which expresses behavior aimed at inciting hatred or violence against an individual or group on the basis of religion, race, nationality, color, gender, tribal or political orientation. The research problem started from the following main question (What is the impact of hate speech through social media on... Social relations?). The research aimed to identify the impact of hate speech through social media on social relations, identify the most widespread hate speech through social media sites, identify the most important reasons for the spread of the culture of hatred in Libyan society, and to achieve the research objectives the method was used. Analytical descriptive analysis was also applied to the purposive sampling of students of the Academy of Graduate Studies in the Janzour area - Tripoli, while the research reached several results, including: - The results proved that the most important negative effects of spreading hate speech through social networking sites were the provocation of strife among the components of society - Al-Firqa And rivalry between members of society - violations of the rights of individuals - threat to the unity of the social fabric - socialization based on committing individual or group murders or assaults - disintegration of social relationships between family members, relatives, neighbors, friends, work colleagues, and classmates.
